Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair using the new Rotium Biowick, "Rotium Patch", by Atreon Orthopedics. It's a synthetic scaffold that is placed between the rotator cuff and bone to augment healing and strength of the repair. Recently approved by the FDA this product promotes migration of stem cells for healing. Prior studies showed that at 6 weeks there was at least a 50% increase in strength of the repair compared to a repair without Rotium . At 12 weeks there was an increase of 75%!
